jus turned 14 and wondering if that's a good time, i also have a meet this upcoming wednesday and was wondering what i should do about my shin splints....thx

you go lyssa...i'm not sure if you've heard of Jeneba Tarmoh...seinor...Mt. Pleasant High School...California...ranked 2nd in the nation for the 100yd dash...(you can google her if you want)...goes to my school...ne ways she also has scoliosis and she just went to china for the olympics and is going to brazil this summer...just goes to show that you shouldn't let anything get in the way of what you want to do...

yeah thats pretty good. shin splints suck. i have them and scoliosis, patella syndrome, and tendonitis. what i do is tape my shins and deal.

This is weird. Yes, 5:52 is a good time especially for a girl. I am mile runner too (14/boy) and my time is a minute slower (I'm embarrassed), and I also have recently had shin splints. For the splints, stay off of them, don't try to run. Ice them daily, and ride an exercise bike to get a workout without husting your legs worse. You could ruin your season if you mess up your legs anymore. Good luck with your running.
