Yes you can and you are probably more likely once you introduce solids as you are not feeding as much. If your not ready for another baby i would speak to your doctor about your contraception options!!!
Hope this helps

Believe it or not, it is not an old wives tale, their is some science to explain it.

Milk production in the breast is stimulated by a hormone called prolactin which is secreted from your pituitary gland in the brain, as a woman breast feeds she stimulates an increase in this prolactin.

High levels of prolactin in turn inhibit Leutenising hormone and follicular stimulating hormone in the brain, these are both responsible for controling females periods and for the release of eggs, if you inhibit these hormones a woman will not release an egg. Thus reducing fertility.

However it has already been mentioned that it is still possiblre that you could get pregnant whilst breast feeding which is true, regardless of the age of your child.
This hormone mechanism is not 100% inhibited and not every single molecule of hormone is topped and just one is required to release an egg, and only 1 is needed to get pregnant.

So my advice is still that if you do not want to get pregnant at the moment, use barrier contraception, breast feeding will reduce your fertility but it is still possilble to get pregnant.

you most certainly can. But sometimes, it takes longer for fertility return to a breastfeeding mom. A large portion of this is because it takes the female body up to 1 year or more to fully recover from childbirth. Just keep breastfeeding, and you will fall pregnant when your body is ready for it. Good luck.

I think the chances are low. But, yes it can still happen. I am also breastfeeding my 2 1/2 month old son and not on Birth Control yet. We are being careful.

Infertility is a condition defined as not being able to become pregnant after at least one year of unprotected, regular, well-timed intercourse. Women who suffer from multiple miscarriages may also be diagnosed as infertile. Infertility may be classified into two groups, primary and secondary infertility.

There is an old wives tale that says you won't get pregnant whilst nursing.

The chances are slimmer but you can still get pregnant.
