-a scientific one is if they look up and slightly to the left. this means they are fabricating. if they look to the right they are remembering
-if their pupils change in size
-if they fidget.
-if they say "hm?" before answering you
-if your holding there hand or something and the pull away before answering.
-if they dont look at you when talking
-if they start talking faster then normal
-if they answer and quickly try to change the subject (although depending what wat you asked, they could just be uncomfortable)

Lots of blinking. If they look you in the face while you're asking a question, then look away when they answer. Looking up and to the right I think means they're using their creative side of their brain to make up an answer, not the analytical side to remember what actually happened. If they turn away from you. The tone of their voice--like, if their answer doesn't come out sounding natural, they're probably lying. Individual people have their own tells.

When my sister was a little kid she would take her bangs in one hand and sort of stroke that chunk of hair while she told whatever story she'd made up. My mom and I caught on pretty quick!!

I always cross examine. Ask the same question like a week later and see what they say 90% of the time it will be a different answer. . . their lying

If they are lying, then the truth will be revealed eventually no matter how much they try to hid.

It takes years to build trust, and a moments suspicion to take all that trust away.

They will not look you directly in the eyes.
They may "fidget".
The pupil of their eyes become larger.
Their palms may sweat.
They may smirk while having a serious discussion.
So forth, and so on.

Lack of eye contact.
Fidgeting.
Defensiveness.
Change of subject.

But these are also signs of a very private person. It's really hard to say unless you have hard evidence.

If they avoid eye contact, or act nervous. Mostly look for body language.
