My family lost our reservation even though we paid in full over a month ago. We have air booked for April 4-9 and now need AI in Cancun / Playa with the BEST activities / things to do for kids 8&3 and teen girls 15 & 16. Ideally we would love the resort to have awesome / spectacular evening entertainment for the entire family. Ideas? Suggestions? Comments?

The Riu chain is great with families, most resorts have a kids club / pool with many activities for the whole family, Sunscape Puerto Aventuras also is awesome with families it's 20 minutes from the Mayan Ruins in Tulum and only 15 minutes from Playa Del Carmen, You can do many day trips with the family, if your going north toward Cancun, the collectivo vans are right next to the bus station, if your going south toward Tulum, they are located on calle 2, between 15th and 20th, they are a great way to get around. As for nightly entertainment , I enjoyed the Grand Palladium, there nightly shows were excellent, they even pulled off Phantom of the Opera!! Enjoy your holiday.

=)

We've always stayed at the Iberostar resorts. They are all inclusive and spectacular. If you stay in the Lindo or the Maya you will have full use of all other Iberostar resorts that are adjoining. At night they offer both an adult entertainment show and a children's show before that. They have two or three clubs within their properties and one is for teens. There are daytime activities offered for kids and if none of this works you can simply ask one of the "star friends" for assistance.

I'd rate their properties in this order: (from best to least)
1. Maya (spectacular rooms, great pool, grand lobby etc.)
2. Lindo (very nice rooms, great pool ..shares pool with maya which includes a lazy river).
3. Del Mar or Beach (both just as nice.. great lobbys and grounds.. much smaller pool than above)
4. Tucan (located further away into Playa.. super crowded. Very beautiful and great beach but not worth battling crowds).

Hope this helps.. Have a great time.. We're going again in May.

Try Dreams Cancun. It's an awesome resort and it has a children's club that will keep young ones busy and entertained while the parents relax. Two beaches. They will not be bored. It's also close to shopping mall. Good food, no reservations needed, no towel key. It's a All-Inclusive also.

If you can, try Cozumel instead of Cancun. It is usually less crowded and lower crime rate because it is not as popular. It still has nice hotels, great shopping and beatiful beaches. Many hotels there are all-inclusive, meaning your meals, hotel, drinks, travel to/from airport, and even tips are already included in your package price. Your only competition is when a cruise ship docks. My wife at the time and I had a huge Mexican meal with several jumbo margaritas for 64 Pesos (about $8 at the time).
