you take the child with you. How long will you be gone? If it is a few days one of you need to change plans and stay home with the baby.

Let me get this straight. You are part of a couple that are both going out of the country, and you want to know which ones mother to leave your baby with? Go with the mother that is most financially able to care for the child (either by not working, so she can be constantly with the baby, or by making enough to afford daycare).

You should NOT both be working out of the country at the same time....I hope it's not for more than a couple weeks, what's the point in having a baby?

okay let me get this straight you want to leave your son, with your mom instead of her mom, right?. well I don't think it's a good idea for either one of them. babies get really cranky and sad when away from their parents for a long period of time. if it is just for the weekend or a week then leave him with your mom. but if it is longer then you should try to work it out so he can come with you, you don't want your mom to have to reajust her life for months so you two can work. you have other responsiblities.

I would not leave the baby with someone who is sick. Maybe if she is on the way to recovering, then ask the other capable one to please take over till the other one recovers. Good luck, it must be hard to leave your child like that...Good luck

My vote would be for you to both find local jobs that would allow you to live with your children.
