I have afriend who says she's pregnant. Is there a copy of a "proof of pregnancy" form anywhere, so I can compare them. I highly doubt she's pregnant, but I want to be sure before I comfront her.

Most of the time it is a note from the doc that says you are preg and the due date. There is no standard form for it as far as i am aware

Mine is all of two lines on hospital letter head with my docs signature on it that says

"My Name is under my care for pregnancy for a single birth. Her EDD (estimated due date) is 7/9/07.

Signed,
My O/B name "

I have used this form for all kinds of places (government applications and such) and they have all accepted it)

(why do you want to confront her?)

there's not any actual form, it's basically just a note from your doctor saying your pregnant. I needed on so that we could move into on-post housing and I think it pretty much said "this person is under my care as an OB/GYN, she is pregnant and her estimated due date is July 13, 2006" and then her signature. Something along those lines, it doesn't matter really, it's not an official document. It would be easy to fake it, you can't fake it when submitting it to the government because it would be illegal and they could confirm it. But there's no way for you to confirm it due to HIPPA laws (privacy laws). Just wait it out, if in 9 months there's no baby, that'll probably be a clue.

To me it's the same as "God works in mysterious ways" or "Who are we to question God's will?" It's the end all answer when they don't have a real intelligent answer. And it IS the same thing. Belief in God creating the world is the same idea as belief in Gaia, or Mother Earth. I don't see how it would be cruel, except for the fact that *most* Christians are whiney. Oh, they can go around wearing their crosses and blessing everyone left and right, but if I wear my pentagram and say, "Goddess Bless you"....... Freedom of religion my a$$. :)

I just ask them, "Where?" Hand-waving is easy. When you get down to specifics, though, it gets much tougher for them. They end up with variations of arguing that human ignorance means their god exists. For example, "If there is no god, then who made the universe" translates to "We don't know how the universe came to be, therefore God exists". "Look at all the beauty around us" translates to "I can't imagine how such beautiful things happened, therefore God exists." "This complexity didn't just happen" translates to "I can't figure out how complexity comes about, therefore God exists". Of course, I've explained this countless times to numerous Christians and other religious people and they just get blank stares. It doesn't really affect them. Their belief is emotionally based, not reasoned. So, reasoned responses don't really have much of an effect on them. They could be the most brilliant people, but they have blinders on when it comes to their religious beliefs. They are trained to be scared of looking to closely to them. That's why they mostly just do hand-waving arguments like this one, and get quickly out of their depth when you actually answer them and ask your own questions.

a proof of pregnancy would be a paper filled out by her dr stating the due date and the number of babies. All forms arent the same, the one i got with my daughter was totally differnet then the one i have with this baby. your just going to have to wait it out and see if she actually is pregnant, or confront her

the only thing to rely on for proof of pregnancy is the paper a doctor would give you. it has the date when you will be due, name of facility, signature of the person who did the test.

no they can all look different depending on the place you went to. i know i never got to actually have my own proof of pregnancy, the place kept it and faxed it where it needed to be sent. i called to try and get it when i applied for wic, and they told me i couldnt, again.. they faxed it. but the laws can be diff in different states.
