other soaps? As they're all recorded weeks in advance it's impossible for them to be very topical generally, but what about Rita & Norris giving their opinions on Pat Evans or Peggy Mitchell or someone from Neighbours or something? Or vice versa? And come on you blokes, you watch soaps too - you just don't like admitting it!
(I only keep up with Corrie & lately I'm beginning to wonder why!)

the people in soaps don't seem to ever stay in and watch TV they are always down the pub boozing, also has anyone ever wondered why no-one in eastenders owns a washing machine as they all take their washing to the laundrette.

Its because if they're real life then the other soap must be real life. So if you lived in manchester you wouldn't sit in the pub talking about what goes on in an east London pub in real life.

No one ever said they're supposed to represent "real life". Just the opposite - an escape from reality.

The more you give up on TV the more liberated you will feel!!and a little bit Superior! start with the soaps....
