The volume is all the way up, everything is hooked up correctly and all that jazz. BUT, I clicked on the volume icon in the right hand corner, and a little box popped up that said there are no active mixer devices available. What the heck does that mean?

turn it off then put it back on..sometimes that happens to me..I guess your computer can't handle how much you overruse your sound..

probably the wrong place to ask this question however, even if the volume is all the way up it won't work if you have the mute function on. So check that first should be an icon on your bottom right corner.

Youve lost your audio driver. If you have a disc...re download it. Or, go into your control panel and go into sound. It may let you fix it in there. Mine done that before and thats what I had to do.*

maybe you reinstalled windows back onto your pc and the sound wasn't automatically installed .. when i reformat my pc i always have to download the graphics and the sound back on it, or maybe you just uninstalled the sounds by accident.

I think might have removed a program or file while organizing your computer.

Check your wires. I had a kitty chew one of my speaker wires once.

sound card is dead
I just saw the music you listen to, I wouldnt blame your sound card for failing.
