my bathroom caught fire..a lot of heat into the computer room, but no fire..is it wise to try and see if the moniter will work....it looks okay..... if so will it damage the computer.....thank you

It is not wise to use anything subjected to a lot of heat (except mabye a fireplace)

The resolution may be really altered if not totally screwed up depends on how intense the heat was and the amount of ventilation present. I can not tell you it will work but if you are afraid of damage to your computer plug th e monitor into the wall only, not the computer and turn it on let it sand awhile and turn it off if the powering off display comes on you are still in business also before you plug it up make sure the plug isn't damaged frayed, or the coating melted

Hi. If the case does not show any damage then the computer room probably did not get hot enough to damage it. But I would first power it up near an outside door and with a fire extinguisher just in case.

Hi,

If there's no visible physical damage, you can try starting the monitor without plugging it into the computer at all. If it works, than you can reconnect it to your computer and it should work fine. Since there was no fire, if the temperature was too high, if damaged your monitor shouldn't power-on at all.
