If you were a smoker, and a police man/woman came over and told you all the bad things that can happen to you how would you react? Would you be frightened, ignore them, listen, stop smoking, etcetera. Please explain your reasoning.

I would, if it was not an infraction, tell this officer to either keep his/her opinions to themselves, or I would be forced to file a harassment complaint with his/her superiors and the office of citizens complaints. This is still the USA and police officers are constituted LAW ENFORCEMENT ( not interpreters, or preventers ) personal. We forget that we live in a country of laws, not of men, not perfectly, but working for justice demands that we do act in that way.

When you are a smoker, many times people tell you these type of things. You have to be ready to quit or you won't. If a police officer (someone of authority) comes up to you and explains this information, I'm going to guess nine out of ten people are going to ignore them.

Smoking is still legal so I would thank them for the advice and light another one as I was walking away.

i would put out the one I was smoking in front of them and then leave the area ; never agrue with the law ; they have the power

Why do people smoke.
It doesn't look cool anymore.
And you're paying for something that's going to kill you... slowly.
Bad breath, yellow teeth and cancer... YEAH!!
It's stupid.
When ever I see someone smoke, I think What a dumb-***.

i'd probably get sick because i already know. but i would never be a smoker. but if i ever was. i;d probably be sick considering the things they would probably mention.
