Not nearly enough - the market is flooded and continues to be oversaturaed with half trained numptys who bring down the reputation and ability to charge a decent rate of those who know what they're doing.
It really depends though - I've seen jobs at £13,000 and some at £30,000 experience and range of skills counts a lot.

Whatever he has the guts to ask for and can find someone dumb enough to pay, if he's got any guile about him.
The answer you were expecting, however, is that depending on how complex the programming and the level of skill the developer has, it will pay anywhere from about $30,000 annually to well into six figures.

It depends on your level of experience and where you live. I would suggest you check out www.salary.com if you live in the US. They have a "salary wizard" on their homepage that's pretty helpful.
