There's an overflow tank with lines on it that show full warm and cold; from a line coming out of the radiator to a clear tank somewhere on the top. Check the owner's man.

A couple of more points:

1) Coolant should only be checked when then engine is cold. Removing the cap when hot will result in a scalded hand. Also, fluid level is higher when hot.

2) When cold, there should be about an inch of air space above the level of the coolant. DO NOT fill the tank all the way to the top.

No, there isn't any dipstick for checking engine coolant. You have the reservior where you have the extra coolant reserved. There is a cap on the top of the radiator that you would take off in look in to check your coolant. When adding coolant you should put it in the reservior. Oh, please be careful when removing the cap from the radiator. Do it when the car is cool or the coolant will spray out and you can be seriously burned.

check the overflow tank to see if its full, but go to autozone and pick up there antifreze tester. it looks like a eye dropper with colored balls on the inside and when you suck coolant up into it it tells you what temperature it frezzes at. that way you can tell to ad more coolant if needed.
