Sometimes a pet owner just needs advise from someone with a similar pet problem, like excessive scratching or licking. The animal isn't suffering but just being annoying. The vet would probably have an answer but not free of a fee that some people cannot afford.

do not get me wrong I totally agree with you they should get to the vet. but when your car hiccups or makes a noise or feels funny while you are driving it do you immediately take it to the car repair place. no you don't you ask your trusted friends and they all tell you to take it to the shop then you finally do and get it fixed up. you know you need to take it to the shop but until 2 or 3 people tell you to you hope the noise goes away.its the same principal. yes an animal is different to you or I but not to everyone. they are still stuck in the hope it goes away mode. people need to realize an animal is different than a car. they are suffering while your car feels nothing. cost has allot to do with it also and yes your right there also. if you cant afford the vet you cant afford the pet but realistically speaking who really cares what we say they will continue to do as they see fit its just they wont come here to get advice or to be convinced they need to go to the car repair place or the vet they will just handle it in their own way. so when people call names and get upset your not getting your point ac cross you are causing further harm and suffering to the animal in your own way. because they will not come here next time to be convinced of something they all ready know they should be doing. just like the car analogy

I never ask if I need to take my dog to the vet because I work at a vet clinic, I know when I need to take them in. But I think some owners really know that they should take their pet to the vet, but they just need someone to give them that little push. The ones I don't understand are the people who say "I think my dog has a broken leg, what are some home remedies?" Those irritate me.

i know some people ask because they are not quite sure if the animal has to go to the vet or if there is anything that they can do at home.

Most of them do it just to be doing it. Its pretty hard NOT to know when to take your cat or dog to the vet. I think they did or will but they want to here what other people think. Most of us think " Why ain't you at the vets now instead of wasting time on here " anyway they just do....

So true! LOL! Why dont they? Home remidies seldom work any more. Thats why vets spend years in colledge, everybody is always looking for a quick, cheap fix....
