Cover girl has tons of colors. Test the color on the top of your had BEFORE you buy it. You're just picking the wrong colors I bet you tend to stay around the same color tone. Go with nude it matches mine (kind of oliveish) and my sister ( pale white) It works for both of us. Do this and find one that matches your hand, it's the closest body part to your face color.

Use Covergirl - it works well enough. All foundations are orange-based; I think your problem may have something to do with application. Make sure only to put on ONE LAYER - layering foundation will definitely make your face look orange. Apply it with a make-up application pad (you could also use a soft sponge). Dab it on - it will work better than rubbing or pouring it on. It is also possible you have the wrong foundation color - when you purchase foundation, test it on your chin at the store and see if it blends. If not, expiriment with different shades. Good luck!

I had the same problem. Try using a lighter color. I eventually had to go to clinique. It isn't as expensive as you might think. It also seems to last longer than some o fthe store brands that I tried. I usually only have to buy foundation 3 to 4 times a year.

It's a bit rrisky and it will waste your time, but you may want to mix two colors [eg a darker one or a lighter one] to match your skin tone.
Or better yet, dont use foundation. Get yourself a concealer stick. Or a concealer, it gives you a natural look, plus it's not as expensive as a foundatin.

But once you SPEND that $30 and get the right one, it'll all be over. Think of how much you spend finding all the WRONG types--and all the aggravation from not having the right one--isn't that worth $30?? If you go on ebay and look for professional concealer, like they use on stage, you will be VERY happy.

Almay's smart shade runs $9-10. It works great. Rather spend $10 than more on trying to find something that looks good.

Try a lighter shade and make sure it's "cool" rather than "warm" because warm means more yellow pigment is added.
