It allows you to wirelessly stream iTunes files (movies, t.v. shows, songs, videos, etc) from your computer to your t.v.

It is mainly a device that syncs your computer media with the built in hard drive of the Apple TV. You can wirelessly send those files from your computer. Things like photos, music, downloaded movies, tv shows, video blogs, etc. It is not too different from other products other than it has Apple's legendary elegant interface and usability. There is nothing on the market as smooth as this butter machine.

Its basically Ti-Vo, but its Apple's spin.
I believe there are some other features... that make it innovative.
You can play stuff from the iTunes store in it, and it will stretch it to the length of your TV without losing quality.
