Her ex was a cumpulsive liar and she still reallty likes him. He is always hurting her, and though she tells me that she hates him I believe she still loves him. I've told her so many times to let him go, and she insists she has (yeah rite). What do I do? should I do something to him or her?

Let your friend know that you are prepared to stand by her.Allow her time to get over her mixed up feelings. Just be there, and let her do all the talking and crying (if necessary). But, make sure that neither of you actually do anything to him. As a matter of fact you should both ignore him completely.

If I had a nickel for every one of my friend in that same situation...$$$€€€$$$
Tell her how you feel, which I am sure you already have, and let it go. She will have to learn the hard way. However, if physical abuse is involved, call the authorities. You can't mess around with that stuff. One of my friends had the same situation and although he never(previously) layed a hand on her, he thru something across the room at her while they where fighting, it hit her glasses and put glass in her eye. She is lucky to not be blind in one eye. There are other fish in the sea!

Sometimes people have to make their own mistakes. You can't control what she does and it can be friendship-ending to try. Be straight with her. Tell her what you see and that you don't want her to get hurt. Help her see that hanging on is hurting her. The only problem is if she is really into him, she will just end up lying to you so you won't be mad at her. The best thing to do is tell her straight and then let her make her own mistakes. And, if you are really her friend, be there when if all falls apart without saying "I told you so."

No, you are going to have to let her learn for herself. You tried and have gave her your advice and that is all you can do. If she really loves this guy and is blinded by love , if you keep bad mouthing him she will end up hating you and taking her frustrations out on you. I know it is hard for you to sit there and see your friend get hurt but only she can decide when she is tired. There is always one thing you can do. Help her meet new guys without making it obvious.

I'd forget about it. She won't follow your advice, he won't. It can only hurt you if you get involved in a problem between the two of them. It could very well be that your involvement keeps them together. I'd just let her know, next time she brings it up, that you've washed your hands of the matter.

well you cant ever truly control who you love so maybe you could help her meet new people instead of reminding her of him by mentioning every so often that he isn't right for her. take her out and create new memories with new guys. go sing some karaoke or road trip or anything really help her out the best you can but when she says to back off, back off and be there for when she needs you. that's what friends are for

i think you just let it occur naturally. she will find out for herself who she really likes and what she really wants.

what you can do is talk to her more. if she spends more time with you, she is in a way splitting her attention to you, too, which reduces the time she thinks about her ex.

There is absolutely nothing you can do she will have to learn on her own and once she realizes whats going on she will be glad to walk away on her own free will... The harder you push the more she will lean towards him...
