Real maple syrup, of course! I grew up in Vermont, and we went on the same field trip every spring of my childhood: going to see how maple syrup is made.

Definitely real maple syrup but it is so expensive--but worth it! I buy the good stuff for me and the imitation stuff for my kids--they actually prefer the cheap stuff!
