I think so far, the saddest movie I'd saw was Titanic. I mean when all those people died while Titanic sank, and the love between Jack and Rose was kinda touching. Yet the music was so beatiful too. It was terriable when like 2,200 people on the ship and almost of them died. Plus how Jack died for Rose, it was so touching! So, what was y'all saddest movie and why?

The Notebook is the saddest movie ive ever seen because they were Allie and Noah were split apart after falling in love and they never forgot about eachother, the moment Allie was asked to be married by Lon, Noah was the first one to come to mind, but they found eachother again and their love was even stronger, i dont wana tell you the rest, but if anyone hasnt seen it, the rest of the movie will have you crying.

the titanic was definitely sad. i cried to that one, i think everyone did somehow. some other sad movies i have watched was first the notebook, that one just showed what true love really seems like; the pursuit of happiness with will smith, was good too because it showed how hard work and determination can pay off in the end (but i really cried when he was out on the streets struggling with his son); and MAN ON FIRE with denzel washington bcos it was really touching how in the end he gave up his life for the little girl. if u havent watched some of these, u should =)

Song for a Raggy Boy it's about young boys being abused by priets at their school!!! Very sad i was inconsolable. Also Titanic, Shindler's list , Ladder 49 and LOTR 3 i was heart broken when Frodo left Sam i think im the only person who cried!!!!!! The Notebook god who didn't cry especially at the end but wasn't a bad kinda cry it was sort of happy aswell because they end up together.

The saddest movie? There are to many sad (sorry ) movies that are out there for me to comment on.

But I would like to start my nomination with "The Piglet Movie". It had something to do with being small/big whatever.

I was sooooo sad sitting there being tortured with yet another lousy animated film. I remember thinking, this is the last dang time we're going to a stupid "G" movie. I don't care what it does to my kids brain. By the time the movie ended I was sobbing with relief.

Almost every movie listed here ended on a positive note.

There is no movie sadder than "The Sweet Hereafter"
The whole town's children die when the school bus falls into a lake.
Only one student survives, and her dad, who has been sexually abusing her for years, loses interest in her because she is paralyzed.
You even feel bad for the shiftless lawyer who tries to make a big legal "score" because his deranged daughter keeps calling to announce that she has AIDS.
It doesn't sound like it, but it was an incredibly good film.

Old Yeller.
very sad. Can't watch it now. I think the dog fights off a bear, or gets bitten by something with rabies. I can't remember. Saw it when I was little and never watched it again.
Also at the end of the Lassie show (old series) where Lassie holds her paw up and the music is kind of sad. That also made me cry.

For me, "Schindler's List" is probably the saddest, although I regard it as a great story about a man who was brave enough to do what he could to save so many people who had no one else to turn to. The part in the movie that chokes me up is at the end, when the workers bid Schindler farewell and as a token of thanks, they present him with a solid gold ring inscribed in Hebrew with the saying from the Torah "he who saves one, saves many." The ring was made from the fillings from one of the workers present. He dropped the ring when he tried to put it on and then when he bent down to pick it up, he broke down because he didn't save more from the horrendous atrocities of the Nazis. Just writing about it as I recall that scene brings tears.

Castaway. Hank's character is anal about time. Leaves the love of his life at xmas for a business trip only to get stranded on island. His best friend is a volleyball and all he has is time and his love for Kelly. The only thing to eat is seafood and coconuts. Finally a piece of what looks like a port a potty washes up on shore and he uses it to make a sail only to lose Wilson and when he gets back to the States, Kelly is married and at the reception at the airport they cater in seafood!! Then he goes to see Kelly and they both obviously are still in love and she tells him she knew he was alive but moved on and out of his love for her and after a passionate kiss he tells her she has to go home to her family. Sooo sad.
And in the end when he goes to return the package to the lady who welds things and is standing at a crossroad looking at a map, this women gives him directions. I get the impression he goes to be with her. In the beginning of the movie, she is listening to elvis and he's an obvious elvis fan, his friend puts an elvis cd in his coffin at his memorial service.
I'm crying just thinking about this.

Requiem For a Dream
That movie depresses the hell out of me over how it ended

I dont want to spoil it for anyone who hasnt seen it, but it's about how drugs *regular prescription ones and illegal narcotics* completely and utterly destroy four people's lives. It stars Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto, Marlon Wayans *who was EXCELLENT in the dramatic role* and Jennifer Connelly.
