I'm not kidding, the whole time I was watching that movie, I was thinking that they must have based her character off of a certain senator from Ney York.

If you haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend it.

Answer Girl, you couldn't be further off the truth. I would never associate myself with a political party because I feel that partisan politics is destroying our country, however if I had to classify myself as one, I would say that I most resemble a democrat....and I would STILL never vote for Hilary.

Actually I did see the movie and I thought Meryl Streep was fantastic in it. The thing is I found out that Meryl actually studied Senator Clinton while preparing for the role.

Yes, her mannerisms did seem to be much like Hillary Clinton.

Then again, was she (the mother) any more manipulitive than Dick Cheney or Carl Rove can be, or even Bush for that matter? I mention this only because sometimes people get partisan blinders on and see faults in candidates from one party but can't see the same faults in candidates from their own party.

If you liked the Denzel remake, you should see the orginal 1962 version with Angela Lansbury playing the mother. Perhaps in her best role ever. Also staring Frank Sinatra, the original, like a classic thriller, leaves more room for your imagination to run wild. As a result I found the 1962 version much more intriguing and disturbing. If anyone hasn't seen the original I highly recommend it as well!

Not at all, but she does remind me of a certain Jessica Fletcher on Murder She Wrote.

It is a great movie though. Ummm, by the way, I am referring to the original Frank Sinatra film, not the Denzel Washington film.
