i think in order to breed them, you have to have a male and a female in one cage, not 2 males and 3 females in the same cage, there may be too many distractions. (of course i hope you realize one female will be left out.)
rodents usually breed at night or early in the morning, you have to leave them alone and let them handle business. there is no safe way that you can forcefully breed them. and of course there is always the possibility that they may not like the other one, and they won't breed no matter how long you leave them together.
anyway, most likely they will, and i wish you the best in doing so. it sounds like you know a good much already.

here is a great site also that may help you, bcuz im not 100% positive about how to do this, as my hamsters bred accidentally:

you can also ask your vet.

i hope i helped, and good luck!!

Alright, there is A LOT i can tell you. Please e-mail with any questions and problems, i have been breeding a LONG time and have seen everything and resolved most.

For one hamsters do go in heat, this is when the male will be more interested in breeding. All the hamsters can live together but when pregnant you have to pull the mother out. Sometimes you have to stimulate breeding by putting one male in a box with all of the females for about 20 min. Switch the males out every 20 min. once a day. You need to do this because sometimes there is a dominate male in the batch and he will prevent the others from breeding by intimidation.

When the female is pregnant you can usally tell by these signs.
1. She will get moody toward you and the other hamsters.
2. She will start to build a nest.
3. She will get fatter and it will look like two lumps on her hips when she walks.
At this point she should be in her own cage, most likely one not made of bars, for the litter when able to walk will fall out of the cage and get injured or killed. If you only have a cage with bars then you should put the cage in a tub so that you can replace any stray pups.
Be sure that the bedding is clean because you can not mess with the mom or litter for at least 2-3 weeks. Also use a water bottle so that they don't drown. Make sure that there are no wheels or tubes that can harm the litter durring rearing.
If you have any questions at all I.M. me or e-mail and i will respond as soon as possible.
