Believe me, it's not half as bad as people make it sound. I'm currently a freshman and the same rumors went around my school. It may be just the area I live in, but the upperclassmen are nice and eager to become friends if you give them a chance. In other words, don't be afraid to talk to them. Once you get over the fear of the first day, [everyone has it] high school is really fun and you're given many more options than you would ever have in middle school.
Hope that helps. Good luck.

Don't believe everything you hear. Those are just rumors perpetuated by bully wannabes who have nothing better to do. In most high schools, the incoming male freshmen (9th grade) outnumber the male 12th graders 3-1...there's more of you in numbers, what is there to be scared about?
You're gonna be alright...stick with your fellow freshmen and try not to go places frequented by the upperclassmen. Leave them alone and they'll leave you alone. Just be medium cool...don't be such a hot shot but don't be too timid either - just go with the flow (the freshman flow), okay?
You're gonna love high school...lots of pretty girls! And remember, you're a freshman just once...in due time, you'll be a senior too...maybe then you can beat up any freshman you like....just kidding LOL.

Sorry. Unfortunately, kids are kids and the seniors usually think they are so much better than the lowly freshmen. They run to the cafeteria, throw their books across the tables to save seats for their friends, etc. I didn't experience any beating up, though. There was discipline in my high school and I'm glad of it.
Just go about your own business. Don't let yourself get cheated out of an education or you will pay for it the rest of your life. Be respectful, do your homework, and when you are a senior, treat the freshmen as you wish you had been treated.

High school is great, you have nothing to worry about. I'm a freshman in high school and i was also worried just like you. Those rumors went around my middle school also, and I believed them. But once I actually started high school, it was nothing like i expected it to be. Older kids dont beat you up or pick on you, they're much to busy hanging out with their friends. In my school people sometimes pass you in the lunch line, but thats not really a big deal. You are going to LOVE high school. In middle school everyone was judged about what they wore, what they looked like, and who their friends were. In high school, you will see a gothic kid talking to a kid wearing all hollister. In high school you become more comfortable about yourself and make alot of new friends. Most of my friends now are older kids like juniors and seniors. Theres nothing to be nervous about.

well im a senior right now im going to graduate in may so my advice is the first few weeks of a persons senior year they do like to pick on freshmen, not beat up, just tease. these are crucial times so buckle down and have alot of self confidence as this is the key to making good with them. once you make it past the first semester your home free. and each year you go on in high school the closer you become to being the one who gets to break in the weak freshmen.

Well it depends on the school u go to. If u go to a rough-neck high school...then everything u said will happen. Most high schools, nicer ones, aren't like that. Mostly you'll get ignored and u may just get picked on. And the cutting thing, well that happens to everyone. Not just Freshmen. That's all i can tell. GOOD LUCK!

I myself am a freshman this year, so I have confidence in saying this. Don't worry about it. Whatever people are saying, it's not nearly as bad. Just act like yourself. It will be easier if you have people that you know going with you. Join some activities that interest you and you will make new friends in no time.

If you think that u will get beat up, tell your parents. Remember, alot of kids have gone through what your worring about. My brother is starting high school and am starting middle school but i know my frineds will always be with me no matter what. talk to your teacher if a bully threatens you or something. (tell to teacher to talk to the bully but tell the teacher NOT to mention your name when he/she is talking to this bully.) Hope you have a good time in high school

it really depends on whether you want to make it fun, dramatic, boring, or a life of hell . don't believe in those rumours until you experience it yourself . but chances are, you're going to have lots of fun. do you have any friends at your current school that are going to this highschool? just make new friends and mind your own buisness. no one will bully you, or pick on you. older kids may sometimes cut in line in front of you in the cafeteria, but don't make a big fuss out of it. if you say something rude, like swearing, than they might pick on you...but just leave them alone and they'll leave you alone : ) good luuuuck !
