I am also going to be storing a couch, etc. For about a year, or more. I want my stuff to be fresh when I get back. Do I need a climate controlled storage unit? How should I store it?

I would definately cover them all up really tight with some good thick old blanket's, just to be safe, maybe some plastic wrap first, in case rain leaks into the shed, you know.. You dont want to come back when your ready to move again and find out it got all warped from wheather damage.. That would not be a "Good Thing!!" Good Luck to you!!

I would suggest getting them off of the ground. Storage units are notorious for ruining things b/c of leaks. The furniture plastic is a good idea. Also, there is a product called Damp Rid that works wonders. It will absorb the moisture in the area. I would suggest buying 3 or 4 small tubs (around $10 each) and replacing them every 4-5 weeksYou might also want to get mouse traps or rodent repellent just to be safe. Good luck!!

I've got some nice wood, too. I just keep it in my pants.
