Hello. I have a minor problem but it's getting very annoying. When I run, the bone in the top of my big toe, and the top of my foot hurt, when I apply pressure during running, and even now as Im sitting here, bending my big toe upwards. It's not a qucik sharp pain, but a consistant, sore pain (not agonizing, though, just enough to be annoying). I have tried 3 differnet types of running shoes, and currently Im wearing a $200 pair of Asics extra arch support runners. I have pretty much no other problems with my feet when I run (I used to with my last 2 pairs of shoes, but with these new shoes, every pain went away, except for this one).

What could this be? Please don't tell me to ask my doctor, or ask a shoe salesman..etc... I just want to know if anybody else has experienced this, and what it might be.

Thanks!

Well ... it might be a stress fracture of your 1st (or 2nd) metatarsal. This is something you might want to see your doctor about.

It might be simply a contusion or sprain of the foot - this should resolve with the usual Rest Ice Compression Elevation
