I have a old desk top computer that I am gonna get rid of. I heard from a few people even if I get personal info out of it, if certain things are done people can relocate my info. Help please on getting personal info out and it never to be relocated in the computer again, I heard you can buy a disk??

Do this it very simple copy all of you hard drive to and external usb hard drive now you have clone of you data , everything. after you unplg this drive fdisk the drive and poof now it all gone forever {unless you have a blue room}

DBAN if you're selling or donating the computer and don't want to buy a replacement hard drive, or else get a new hard drive and physically destroy the old one. If you're just recycling the old computer you don't even need to replace the hard drive with a new one, just pull the hard drive out and destroy it and recycle the rest.

THAT IS CORRECT TOO YOU CAN BUY A DISK AT THE COMPUTER STORE THAT WILL TOTALLY WIPE THE MEMORY AND HARD DRIVE AND ANY WHERE ELSE THE INFORMATION MAY BE STORED AT IT IS NEVER RECOVERABLE AGAIN AT ALL EVER ONCE IT IS GONE IT IS GONE SO THATS THE BEST WAY TPO HANDLE THAT ARE TRY PUTTING A NEW HARD DRIVE INTHE SYSTEM SO THEY CANT GET YOUR INFORMATION EITHER THATS ANOTHER STEP YOU COULD TAKE TOO SO I HOPE THIS HELPS AND HAVE A GREAT DAY AND GOD BLESS............ANY OTHER PROBLEMS PLEASE EMAIL ME AT COUNTRYMAN12001@YAHOO.COM THANKS.......

use dariks nuke and boot takes hours to clean a disk off
but it's very thorough you just put it on a floppy and run it:

if you dont want to remove your hardrive here is a program who can wipe it. there is a free version

buy a DATA DISK AND SAVE IT ALL IN THERE THEN DELE IT ON THE COMPUTER
