When is HD-DVD recorders coming out and what?

is the price of them? I need to tape digital channels.

Also what is a good regular DVD upconvert player that will give me 1080I from my regular dvd's.

Tape-based HD recorders exist already (check JVC HD VCR).

Hard-drive based HDTV recorders also exist (Tivo, Dish, etc.)
Blu-Ray or HD-DVD recorders should appear soon, first in PCs then maybe stand-alone.
