Ever since I saw My Girl when I was really young I have been deathly TERRIFIED of bees and wasp. When I see/hear them I automatically start panicking and hyperventilating. Even if I see them on TV it scares me to death. I don't know how to over come this fear, because I CANNOT come in contact with them, I've tried it. Please no sarcastic answerers.

Sounds like you are a teeny bit phobic.
If you want to get this under control, there are 2 things you should do.
1) Get as much information as you can on the bees and wasps in your area. Find out how hazardous they actually are. Get the facts. Know their behavior, what makes them sting, and how bad the sting is. Also, find out how to treat bee and wasp stings. People who are phobic often have exaggerated and unrealistic ideas. Not always, but often. Since bees and wasps do in fact present some risk, you want to be realistic in your assessment of it.
2) Desensitization. Gradually practice getting closer. If you are scared even of a picture, find one you can look at with some discomfort but not too much. Look at it while relaxing your muscles and breathing. Breathe deeply, and systematically relax your muscles. When you can look at it without discomfort, move on to something a little more discomforting, and again relax.
This is the basic principle; expose yourself to the feared object just enough to feel uncomfortable, relax until you are comfortable, and then move on to a slightly close approach.
Good Luck.

I'm quite scared of getting stung by bees & wasps too, but its never come to a phobia level which you seem to have.

When I was little my older brother would tell me so long as I don't mess with them, they won't mess with me. So that's what I do, I don't mess with them.

Twice I've actually had a LARGE bee land right on my chest (which freaked the hell out of me) & all I could do was stand still (because I was sooooo terrified) & it would fly away within a few seconds.

The only way to overcome your fear is to confront it. If you're ever in the park or something & see a bee, try walking past it rather than running away. I try not to think about them too much.

If you honestly can't stand being around one then perhaps you should seek some professional help. I'm not being sarcastic when I say that because that's what they're there for.

i to am quite afraid of bees and wasps, i've never been stung by one though. i'm not absolutely sure of how to overcome your fear. i still am afraid of them if they come buzzing by me i panic. but if one is on a flower doing what bees and wasps do mostly (pollinate flowers) i find them interesting to watch. one thing that might work is that you have to remember that they are more afraid of you than you are of them. and the vast majority of the time even jittery hornets will not sting you. i used to have to cut grass around graineries on the farm, and wasps and hornets always built nests up in the eaves. and i mean the nasty ones tom the yellow jackets and the hornets. yet i was never stung, even pushing a loud lawn mower right beneath their homes. my dad was once hammering on a grainery floor right next to a bumblebee nest and they never even bothered him.

so when you next run into one of these beasts just relax and stand still, if you leave it alone, it should leave you alone, and even a dozen stings might hurt, but won't kill you.
