Yes, you can. But, I have to say that it is safest in a gym. If you sign up for a gym class, you will learn lots of other fun stunts to incorporate into dances. If you do not wish to join a class, at least practice these while being supervised so you do not harm yourself.

Front: Do what you would like you are going into handstand (except for legs will be separated) and kind of roll out in it. Make sure that your hand are by your ears, and not too far out, and have a lot of power.

Back: Have someone spot you first, arching your back.
While you are going back you have to be pulling your leg back at the same time. Otherwise it is choppy and MUCH harder to get over. Start with your leg up (make sure you have your balance), its easier.
Make sure you KEEP YOUR ARMS OVER YOUR HEAD.

Good luck!

You can learn back walk-overs a lot more easily than front (IMO). I remember learning that one summer. If you know how to do a back bend you are half-way there! Good luck!

Yes, but I wouldnt advise you to do so. Its only takes one wrong move to twist your back or neck and if you're alone that can be a problem for obvious reasons.
