it's a nice song yes, but I wouldn't say is the best rock song ever.... I wouldn't say Pink Floyd is the best rock band ever ... try Frank Zappa, King Crimson, UK, etc etc.... that's tricky and interesting.

I think "Wish You Were Here" is the best song Pink Floyd ever put out, but my vote for best rock song is "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas.

I LOVE Pink Floyd and Wish You Were Here is so beautiful and haunting, but it's been overplayed. There have also been better Floyds (Fearless, Echoes, Atom Heart Mother, The Embryo) that are less famous.

Wish you were here is a fantastic song, in fact its one of my faves. It is one of the best songs ever. Having said that I wouldn't say its the best ROCK song ever. But it still is fantastic. I love Pink Floyd.
