The truth is, many people just aren't that pretty, physically (the overwhelming average being a four to a six on a scale of ten). But personality can always make a person seem more or less beautiful. And remember that when it comes to ideal beauty, it's all smoke and mirrors. I wear the right makeup and the right clothes and I can look a sexy nine. But when it comes to real beauty, being healthy is most important. And I know this sounds cliche', but you are what you eat (and drink, and think, and do).
When it comes to what I think as ugly on a PURELY physical basis, it's things that are easily changed compared to others--like too much body fat (more on men because even though women have a harder time losing body fat, women put on body fat more nicely), or out-of-control acne.
But when it comes down to how I really think about what makes a person ugly is how they are on the inside (figuratively).

Definatley personality. Thats just what i feel. This world has become so superficial that people want everyone with plastic surgery,clear skin, straight teeth,money,hoochie. Some people cant afford things others can. Personality is the most important cause even a beautiful person can be ugly as soon as they open theyre mouth.

Personality makes an ugly or a beautiful person. As for physical looks, I think it's all a matter of one's opinion.

everyone is not ugly to each other, a person could come up and say you are the most beautiful girl they laid eyes on. but then someone else could say that your ugly as h3ll (there's someone for everyone out here) dont judge

Hey emerald eyes, I'm sure you know the term "beauty is the eye of the beholder". And in my eye, it's equally physical and intellectual. But for me it can't be just one or the other.

personality can be ugly making.
bad health and bad hygene comes next for me.
last .. some people just look bad .. but the first two are heavy heavy contributers.
I have always liked it that to say pretty in Japanese one says that she is "clean"
There is much to that.

I guess just fake people generally. Even though they could be the prettiest, I can't stand how people put up whatever it takes to be the hottest.
