Skateboarding is not a crime.............. sometimes people really take the denouncing of civil liberties to far! I think you should be able to skate anywhere, providing that you aren't going to hurt anyone. But many people equate skateboarding with graffiti.....which its not....UGH!!!!!! I have seen bans on campuses, city parks, public squares on skateboards.......WHY? Is any harm being done by skating (I like seeing people doing tricks and skills on skateboards)! You know I was watching the news and I saw that the government (not sure if it is federal or state) is going to ban smoking in cars. What next? We won't be able to leave out of our houses soon without reporting our whereabouts.......UGH ...We are really going to be like Tom Cruise in Minority Report.

Depends. It's not illegal in a skateboarding park. It is trespassing on private property. It can also be considered wreckless endangerment when tearing down sidewalks that pedestrians use. The problem is "skateboarding" per se, it's the rude and often dangerous behavior of skateboarders that turns it into an issue.

Older people are just mad because they aren't the one having fun on that skateboard.

A lot of places have, no skateboarding signs now-a-days. Where you will get a fine or something if you are caught skateboarding there. Which is ridiculous.
