It is mostly a liquid. It is much easier to eat it with a spoon. You can eat the chicken and noodles in chicken noodle soup, but the broth would go through the prongs of the fork. You can eat stew with a fork and do it relatively easy. (Because stew is thicker and has more solids like veggies and meat.) Long story short, it gets you more soup and is easier.

Cooome ooon, People! This question begs creativity...First off, the liquid would leak through the drive shaft seal (espcially if it were a thin soup like won-ton), thus entering into the crank case and fouling the oil so terribly the engine would seeze and if that didn't happen it would still be too dang dangerous to upend a running lawn mower just to get a sip of soup!

It depends on the kind of soup. I eat cup of noodles with a fork and sip from the cup. Have you tried to pick up noodles with a spoon? When I am by myself I sip most soups from the bowl when it is cool enough.

because soup, usually the broth being liquid, it's easier to use a spoon. using a fork to eat noodles in the soup, is best... but all in all, the spoon is most ideal. sometimes i use both, if the noodles happen to be long enough.

How else would you eat it? Drink it from a cup? Eating soup with a spoon is the proper way to eat it.

the spoon is the best way to get a little amount at a time, because normally soup is hot, seperating it cools it much faster. Also if has pieces of meat, veggies or noodles a spoon is best at scooping them out!! Common sense don't ya think. But hell slurp it out of a cup or bowl if ya want.

Because with every scoop of the spoon you receive some of the ingredients of the soup and the broth portion of the soup!

well because if you ate it with a fork it would take hours becuase it would all fall through the prongs, and if you ate it with a knife that would just be plain old stupid..and a spoon is cupped to hold liquids for easy eating so that is why we use spoons to eat soup

What else are you supposed to use? I suppose you could drink the broth and eat the chunks with a fork. But I think a spoon is that much simpler.

If it's hot I use a spoon even if it's in a cup. I also use a spoon to get all the chunks of veggies, meat or whatever from the bottom of the bowl or cup.
