The doctor said that I was having contractions at his office while I was on the monitors, but I didnt feel them. My stomach gets hard sometimes, but it just feels like my baby has moved a little and all i feel is him. Could i be having contractions and not know it? I will be 40 weeks Sunday march 25th.

Yes contractions make your belly hard. Real contractions you will feel.

Sometimes contractions won't feel like anything more than PMS cramps. Other times they will feel like a tightening and hardening of your stomach. Since you have been having recorded contractions and will be 40 weeks SOON, if you feel anything unusual (yes I know you are pregnant and uncomfortable and just about everything at 39 weeks feels unusual!!) but any kind of cramping or anything I suggest you go to L&D!!

It really depends on the size of the contraction, when I was pregnant I had too much amniotic fluid andhad contactions all the time sometimes I felt them sometimes I didn't. But it is normal for the belly to get hard during contractions because the muscles are getting tight.

Those sound like Braxton Hicks. Actual contractions kinda feel like really bad gas cramps.

You may not be having strong contractions--But usually they are pretty noticeable--Maybe you have a high tolerance for pain?...I am pretty sure that when the final contractions begin, you will probably know and will also feel them--but maybe they will nto be as intense for you--that's probably a good thing!!
