What is a Patriot?
What is a patriot? Is a patriot a citizen, who when they hear the president they pause from their busy schedule to listen? Is a patriot a soldier fighting to protect us? Or is a patriot a protestor at the white house against the war.
I believe all these people are patriots. If you stand by your country you are a patriot. People who help are country like firemen and policemen are patriots. Protestors are also patriots, but if they protest this country and everything about it I do not believe at all that they are patriots. Patriots stand up for what they believe in and if they do not believe that the president is doing something right they would try to fix it instead of just complaining about it. Patriots are citizens that are good samaritans and
obey the law. They are people who have a flag in their heart even if they don’t have the flag out side their house. They will go around selling yellow ribbons to raise money for those people who put their life on the line to protect us. A patriot is someone who cares for their country and its environment. They will throw away their garbage instead of littering. A patriot is a teacher who helps everyone learn from their good deeds. A patriot is someone who people can look up to, not only children but adults look up to them too. Patriots are against terrorist one hundred percent. They make good choices and cherish freedom. They take part in their community to make it better and safer. Patriots respect and honor the constitution. They pledge their allegiance, too.
Patriots are the base of our country. They make our laws and enforce them. They help us, protect us, teach us, and save us when we need them. No matter what, patriots should always be respected and honored.

If you are a Republican then being a patriot means supporting all wars with everything except your tax dollars and paying blind loyalty to the leadership and power structure of the country. It means respecting the flag more than what the flag stands for. It means saying all soldiers are "fighting for freedom" even if you're not sure what they're fighting for.
If you are Democrat than being a patriot means that you need to repsect the VALUES of freedom and equality that he country stands for and speak out when the country acts against those values.
It's the difference between saying "My country, right or wrong" or "My Country, we'll never be done making it better."

A patriot is someone that fights for truth and justice!
There are many real patriots out there right now but not in the mainstream media. Patrick Bryne of Overstock is fighting an evil that is unprecidented in the globe to this date it is that of a crooked stockmarket.
He is fighting for a level playing field for all investors. The cure for Cancer the solution for all global warming! He is standing up against a monster that's head is attached to this admin.

A patriot is a Republican who talks a lot of smack about supporting America and the troops, but doesn't actually do anything about it.
A patriot is a Republican who claims to be "pro-life", but then murders people via war and the death penalty.
A patriot is a Republican who swears allegiance to the United States, then turns around in the same breath and discriminates against his fellow American (read: gay marriage).
A patriot is a Republican who owns guns, but never intends to use them helping America fight its wars.

A patriot is anyone who loves their country. You don't have to agree with everything your country does to be a patriot, no matter what anyone tells you.

A person who loves his country. Not a bad thing as long as it is not blind patriotism which leads to jingoism which is a very bad thing.
