If you are inclined, I put an alarm on the old lady's bike, it has a pager feature, if the alarm goes off the pager goes off too. It is limited to about a half mile range.Gorilla is the maker, it's under 100 bucks and pretty easy to install.

A dog!

And no, I am not being flippant. I am dead serious.

Unless the thief has cased your bike in particular and pre-meditated its theft, thieves are not usually prepared for dogs. Dogs make noise, which causes other dogs to make noise, which causes PEOPLE to wonder why and go see. Dogs also bite, which thieves are not fond of.

Most thieves run at the first sign of a dog.

I used to ride a sport bike I used a U lock in my rear wheel it went through one of the wheel blades and the brake reinforcement, it made the bike so you couldn't ride it off. The lock also fit under my seat. This with stop 90% to 95% but it won't stop them all. If your in an area where they like to steal bike with a pu truck LOJack is your only protection.

Lol, good answer.

A good lock and uncroppable chain (e.g Almax if you're in the uk) is the best security. Alarms, immobilizers and disc locks are only a minor deterent.

get a ninja 250 or a ninja 500. A guy at my school went outside one morning and saw that someone had cut through his chain with a plasma torch... melted metal on the ground... and his cover was missing. Then they realized the bike was a ninja 500 and didn't bother to steal it....

A locked garage. If that's not available, I guess a good lock and heavy chain. If they want it bad enough, they'll get it. I hope you have insurance.
