Well bless you for wanting to help others on such an intimate level. And I'm sure that the field of addictions needs many dedicated and competent people to join them. I believe that there are certain courses that a person must take to become a certified alcohol and drug counselor which also includes a certain number of hours actually on the job. I will look for a website that may provide more information.
