Sounds like a browser highjacker. Download Ad-aware SE from www.lavasoft.com, or download.com. You could also open an IE window, go to Tools | Internet Options and select the Advanced Tab. Scroll down to "Browsing" and uncheck "enable third party addons". Shut down IE and try it again. You can also go to Tools | Manage Addons and try disabling the suspicious looking entries in the Addons window.

If you do not have firefox get it now and use it instead of internet explorer so you dont get any more spyware http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.com/

to remove the spyware/trojan/virus run steps 1-2-3

1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot http://spywarekiller.hyperboards.com/index.php?action=view_topic&topic_id=4 do that now .Update it (Latest updates 21-3-2007) and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode

1b) Run AVG Anti-Spyware Free

If you believe your computer has spyware, the FTC wants to know. File a complaint with the FTC.

Its a virus or adware or spyware. i say if you have the recovery disk start the whole computer over from scratch. That was the only way to get my g/f pc right. Or go to download.com and look up free spyware and adware removal software.
