Is a webcast radio station and music related topics good for making money with AdSense?

I would appreciate the answer of imsidro... Or others, whatever

I'd say yes, becauseyou can run that site by yourself.

You'll need tons of visitors (+100,000/month) to earn enough money to pay the rent.

Music is not the highest paying topic. A forum or other options will add a lot of value to your site.

From what I've seen so far, a webcast radio station or music related topics do not do as well in Adsense primarily because people go to the site to listen to webcasts or music, not to find additional resource that the Adsense ads may fulfill. Your site is THE destination, not a jumping off to another resource.

Another thing is that the ads are mostly about ringtones, DVD, and concert tickets which are typically low paying. So earnings per click is just about $0.05 - $0.25/per click. Your site will also have a low eCPM and even a low click through rate.

Music is not a high ticket website in terms of Adsense. To do well with Adsense, you need to have TREMENDOUS traffic to compensate for the low CTR and low eCPM. If your site can get traffic of about 100,000 uniques per month, then you can start expecting some significant income from Adsense. If you can hit a 2 million or more uniques per month, then you can start seeing 5-digit income.

The upside though is that music is such as well known topic that a lot of people enjoy and love. If you can offer great original content, it is easier to get a lot of traffic -- and with it comes significant Adsense income. The key is to offer GREAT ORIGINAL content, especially considering the stiff competition there is out there in the music area.

Find a niche in the music industry that is not served well, then do an excellent job of it and income will follow.

One good way to check is to use a Keyword Selector Tool and see how many people search for that topics. http://www.geocities.com/lcming/adsense has a Keyword Selector Tool you can use.
1. Type in your word
2. Or Phrase
3. See what results comes out
4. Try different words
5. See and compare
6. The results are for the previous month
But it should give you an indication

Eg Avon yielded 116,948 searches in Feb 2007
Webcast - 4,503 searches
Webcast Radio - 120
Jobs - 523,639

When you start a radio station the most important part is that you dont have enough content on site to get selected and better keyword traffic which actually results in a better Google Adsense revenue.but not to worry any more if you have traffic than you can turn them to a better revenue by using tools like urbanread.com there may be many other ways also but i found this usefull.

Probably not. The keywords used here would not be high bid keywords such as insurance or car finance. You might get anywhere from 1cent to 12 cents. A better idea is a niche subject with high paying keywords. Besides that if you have a well visited site with thousands a day even dog bones could turn a good dollar with adsense. So therefore it is hard to say. Traffic =clicks=dollars.

The first question you should ask is "How much money will it cost to start and run this idea for 6 months" Once you have that, you can see how much adsense would contribute.

Adsense, Yahoo and others are good to generate some money but unless you have over 100,000 people that come to your website, I don't think you can earan more than $100 per month.
