Peggy Lee. Are you aware of the story behind Connie's early and long retirement? She was staying in a motel chain and was raped repeatedly, kept in the room all weekend. She was so traumatized she could no longer perform. It was 20 yrs later and Dick Clark who got her our of retirement long enough to sing for him on national tv. Look up 50's singing artists.
