way back in the day the inventor of glue had a nice little chat with it and told it it's not going to stick.
nah it's oxygen, ever noticed how if you leave the cap off long enough the glue was dry up?

With the cap on, the glue stays moist which makes it able to slide up and down. If you were to leave the cap off and let it dry out, you probably would not be able to get it out.

it is a liquid and the bottle is plastic so it doesn't stick or dry out because its not exposed to air

No air to speak of, it needs air to cause it to dry and harden unless it is contact cement.
