My house smells like something being burnt (long story), what can I do, to quicken up the process of airing out the house && getting rid of the aroma?

instead of doing all this hard work....i would just buy a smelly dog.

well 1. dont smoke anything in the house 2. get an air purifier if you do 3. get glade plug in's air freshener's to detour the smell and 4. keep windows open if smoking and let the house air out 5. buy a air effects spray to kill smoke germs in the air while freshening..

Open the windows, get out the hot water bucket, and srub away with a good cleaner - Murphy's Oil Soap shouldn't affect your walls if you have standard paints. Use a favorite air freshener as well. If it still doesn't go away after a week or so, you may need to repaint.

You can light a candle and open the window at the same time that always works for me!

Wash everything with 25% ammonia and water and then re paint everything
(God only knows how many times I had to do it for my wife
Smoke detector going off = dinner is done)

turn on some fans
wipe walls down/soapy water
shampoo carpet
mop floors
