Honestly, it depends on your taste and your vocal range. If you have a higher voice with a souther accent, don't go doing JaRule hip hop. Some guys sing rock incredibly but when they try country, they suck! Pick songs you know and love, and if they're not in your range, just about all professional karaoke equipment comes with digital key change to drop or bright up the pitch of the song to match your range.
