I teach 7th and 8th grade general music classes. It is a required class, not an elective, so everyone has to take it. I'd like to better motivate my students, so let's hear it from YOU! What would you want to study, or what kinds of activities would you like to do to make music class one of your favorite subjects? THANKS!!!

(I hope it's ok that I asked a similar question in another category!)

I'm in high school, but I wish that we had learned some more music theory. Plus, probably teach them about the different parts of a song and what makes one exciting. You might even have them wright their own as part of a project and the best one gets to be preformed by the band and orchestra combined. That would be so cool.

You can make the students choose some of the songs they will play. I love it when we get to do that.
