Maybe I should've been clearer about why I want to know this. I'm 17 weeks pregnant this coming Sunday, and the EDD according to my scan is 2nd September. BUT, I was trying to find the date of conception, which came back as the 10th December 06. This doesn't add up because if I'd conceived on 10th December, surely my EDD would be 30th September (42 weeks after 10th December 06) So, which date should I follow, the EDD date according to the Scan (which says I fell pregnant on 26th November) or the date of conception which came back as 10th December-I just got a bit confused is all. No offence taken Gravytrain036-you've actually been really helpful. Trish, I'd ask my mum but she passed away when I was 11. Thanks anyway.

the due date is calculated from the first day of your last period, this is because it is impossibble to know exactly what date you concieved but usually works out around 2 weeks after the first day but the medical people count you as 2 weeks ahead of actual conception but they also allow 2 weeks over at the end to ensure the baby gets its 40 weeks inside your womb. There are online calculators that can estimate the exact day of conception, i looked into this cos when i found out i was pregnant it worked out i was 3 weeks but docs insisted i was 5 weeks so i asked why and it was explained to me. Forget your 2 weeks behind what your date is cos the development of the baby (how big it shoud be etc) is also put 2 weeks back so it all works out to match dates in the end,,,,,,,,, i dont know why the doctors do it this way but its worked for centuries so who am i to ask!

Conception is the actual second that the sperm finds the egg and first penetrates it. When a man ejaculates during intercourse his sperm enters the woman's vagina, but that's not the end of the story. A woman's vagina is very acidic in order to kill of bacteria, and it can also kill the sperm too. This is why men produce literally MILLIONS of sperm to ejaculate into the woman. Fertilization, or conception, can happen up to a week after intercourse because some of the sperm actually live long enough to make the LONG journey through the woman's reproductive system to reach the egg.

Sorry, if it sounds like I"m down talking to you, but I'm just assuming that you are young

how the doctors etc work out ur edd they go by the first day of your last period not from when the egg gets fertilised etc as this could happen anytime in the month, when you have you scan around 19-22 weeks the date may even change, but normally a dating scan is given 12-16 weeks of pregnancy this is most accurate as all babes grow at the same rate at this stage as when further the rate slows down for different pregnancys, its confusing . yor pregnant for 10mths as some months have 5 weeks in them not 9 as its 40 weeks thats why you might be a little confused.xx

Conception happens a few days later although when you are pregnant they count it from your last period - approximatly 2 weeks before conception. So even beforeconception occurs you are already 2 weeks pregnant! Weird.

Now everyone can cure infertility using this natural remedy https://healthcare.im/getting-pregnant
infertility can run in the family and one of the first things the doctor asks you when you go to a fertility clinic is your family history regarding cases of infertility or other reproductive issues.

If infertility is caused by genetic disorder then it's not unusual that one of the kids (your mom) doesn't have it and another does (your aunt).
two months of trying is still to early to be concerned about the fact that you might be infertile and it's also quite early to go to a fertility specialist. Go to a regular Obgyb to get a closer insight and see what ways there are are to improve your fertility rate.

Also remove alcohol, caffeine and cigarettes from your life because they might influence your chances too. Stress is also a risk factor when it comes to infertility.

conception is anything from 24 hours after sex to 72- hence why the morning after pill cannot be taken after that- not strong enough.

also why coils etc can be fitted UP TO 5 days after
