The Message was by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. Real rap - not the homophobic misogynistic crap that young people today listen to.
Oh no! I'm turning into my Dad!

I remember The Message by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five (1982). And Rappers Delight by The Sugarhill Gang (1978-79).

I do! Sure! That song was great! None of these rappers today can hold a candle to that song! "Don't push me cause I'm close to the edge, I'm tryin not to lose my head. It's like a jungle sometimes..." Old school rap at it's best and it was socially ahead of it's time!
