Why do married people cheat ?

Because they might have problems at home that are not being addressed correctly. The couple may have drawn apart and don't realize it or just don't want to put any effort into making it a good marriage again. Or there are some guys that are just never satisfied with what they have. This goes for woman too I suppose. And that is sad. It makes me mad to think that a couple goes through all the trouble to get married and agree to spend the rest of their lives together and just throw it away cause they got bored or whatever. You have to put an effort in keeping your marriage alive. Or it will just fizzle away. Alot of people think once they are married, it will be a great life. Well sad but not true, you have to make it a great life. That is why alot of marriages end in divorce. People are not willing to make it work. All the excitement leaves and they want it back, so they go looking for some one new.

Not all married people cheat! I for one am happily married to my husband of almost 6 years. If both spouses took their vows seriously, and want to do what is right in the eyes of God, then they would not cheat. Most people (both men and women) do it for the thrill of secretcy. As long as they can have their cake and eat it too they are just as happy. It is not only the married people who cheat, look at those persons who are in relationships, they "cheat" just as much if not more for what? A few moments of pleasure that will end in a lot of pain in the long run. (Guess I stepped on some toes that time.)

Why Do People Cheat?

They think morals are a matter of what they like, agree with, want, can justify, instead of realizing that morals are set by God.

Human nature. The human nature is to do what you think you can reasonably expect to get by with or what you feel wont cost you more then you are willing to pay or give up. Humans often use the way they feel or the things others do toward them as a justification to do what they themselves wish to do. Many people will never stop to question just how they might be causing much of the way they are treated or viewed by others or if that treatment or view might be justified.

Because people are selfish and only care about themselves, what they want, need, desire, or care about in many cases.

Many people live as much in fantasy world as they do the real world. They have the idea that a person will be or act this way. They have the idea that a plan will work that way. In their fantasy, they decide that another person will be just exactly what they want, as they wish and so forth. One must ask themselves, just how many times in life have things worked or gone as you thought they would or as you imagined they would. Frankly, when they have actually been pretty close to what you hoped or imagined, it was inpart because you put a lot of work or effort into making it be that way, more then just hoping or wishing it would be.

People will consider almost anything, no matter how wrong or immoral or perverted as being acceptable or alright. There isnt much cost, embarrassment, etc., for anything that people do anymore, so we in a way encourage them to be bad or to do wrong. We dont look down on people, judge them or see them as bad anymore, so the encouragement or sense of entitlement to do as you wish is greater and more widely believed and subscribed to.

Another possible reason is that the person who is cheating has basically given up. They are married to someone whom they have tried to communicate needs and desires, wishes, thoughts and so forth with, but the mate doesnt seem to pay attention or care. So, after a while, the cheater finds another outlet or way of getting the love, affection, that they need. They figure that the person they have at home doesnt give a damn how they feel or what they need or what they promised, so why should they continue to do so? Now, dont get me wrong, cheating is cheating and it is wrong no matter what. But you also have to realize that in many cases, the reason a person got married was in large part because they wanted regular and steady sex. When they dont get that at home, they will find it elsewhere.

Warning to spouses. In the Bible, it plainly says that your body belongs to your spouse and that you are not to deny your spouse except for the agreed upon time period. If a person is withholding, God cautions them that they are possibly contributing to the spouse being tempted. God also warns those who withhold that if the mate cheats for this reason, he will hold the person who is withholding responsible to a point, for the adultery, because they were not holding up their end of the bargain either. I would also like to add that I have come to realize that the part about your body belonging to your spouse does include not just sexual organs, but the whole body. That means that we should help, assist one another with our body. But, dont misunderstand. God clearly pointed out that your mate has a right to have sex with you regularly, he said nothing about not helping to clean house or change the oil as a reason for a spouse to be tempted.

People dont consider that there will be a judgement day and that we have to account for what we did and what we failed to do in life, and that is compared to what Gods standards are. People forget that, disavow that, reject that or simply decide they dont care, so they will do any number of bad or immoral things to include cheating.

Married people may cheat because they don't have the same feelings for their "lover" as the used to, the couple may have grown apart and they find some one else that makes them happy.

because they are not happy in thier current relationship. yes you are married and maybe you are not getting what you want from this relationship. maybe the guy wants special attention and sex all the time and maybe the wife wants attention period and to be treated like a queen. they are both not getting it from thier spouses and they go looking for it else where.
yeah you may find it in the mistress or sancho but in the long run it doesnt work out and then by the time you find out you will have a kid and in the end you will be miserable.

They cheat for various reasons. Not getting married for love, weakness to temptation, drug or alcohol abuse, immaturity(too young to be married), and many others. If you go into marriage with wide open eyes and know the other person very well beforehand it can limit your chances for failure due to cheating.
