I am a runner too! Just take your goal time and divide it by 12, and try to hit those splits each lap and have someone yell them out to you or look at the clock. Since it is a very small track, I'm sure you will be lapping some people, so use that as your motivation for running faster! Try to lap as many people as possible, and good lucK!

Just keep working hard. I also run track and this is my 2nd season on the team. Last year I had to run sprinters but I wasn't good, so I just did what I had to do and didn't complain about finishing last. However, this year I was forced to run with the long distance girls. Once again I am still coming in last, but according to them I am improving fast. All I do is go out and do the workout I am given. I have to work hard and push myself at the same time. You might not always win the race but at least you finish. Good Luck and remember you are a winner to those that don't even try.
