It's like when someone says their religion condemns children born out of wedlock. It used to be that way not that long ago. It was never the child's fault but for a long time because religion condemned it children born from a single mother were considered bastards and often treated as such.
That sort of stigma is attached to someone who states their religion condemns homosexuality. It is a given, then, that the person saying this is bigoted.

Christians say that the only reason why men and momen were created was to have babies. What does love have to do with that? Love and sex are seperate. If pregnancy is the purpose of sexuality, then don't use contraceptives! Besides, why are men and women who cannot reproduce allowed to marry? There is no way to prove homosexuality wrong(although there is no way to prove it right, either). It may be you're opinion, but I disagree with it. Christians also believe that we are born with a conscience and that it will tell us what to do. Isn't our conscience what we develop through experience and learning? I doubt human beings would believe homosexuality was wrong since the day they were born. I'm glad you don't want to go out and lynch gays. You probably just don't want to become one because of the cultural prejudice.

I think it goes both ways. People are human and easily get defensive or feel offended when someone believes contrary to something that is to them right, natural and unavoidable. I don't think you're a bigot, just not accepting of the gay lifestyle. I do think those are different things. As someone else stated, in life, especially when it comes to religion or matters not yet proven by science to be conclusive, we get carried away thinking our way is the only way, when we need to recognize people do believe differently. Both sides need to be respectful of the other, and often agree to disagree.

Because you're going out of your way to repeat this condemnation. If that's your private opinion, fine, you're entitled to it. But if go on a public site and proclaim it over and over, then you have to realize it's going to hurt someone's feelings, and they are going to lash back.
For example, I could come here and post questions or answers stating that in MY religion, everyone with blue eyes are evil baby-eating poopheads who will burn in hell. Which may sound crazy or logical, depending on your point of view. But some blue-eyed people would eventually feel hurt by this, and want to know WHY I didn't like them, WHY I thought they were so bad, and I could devise all sorts of reasons and quote from all sorts of literature, and eventually they'd figure out that, even if I really believe it, my only motive in declaring it over and over again was sheer spite.
Basically what I mean is that common courtesy requests that if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

It depends how much you go on about it! We live in a democracy and everybody has the right to an opinion; but your opinion is contreversial therefore the consequences are that people will query it. Words like the words "condemn" imply that that the person being "condemned" are wrong or inferior leading for people to defend themselves the way that you would defend your religeon if it is under attack. If I said my "religeon" condemned Jesus Christ you would probably find it hard to stay quiet! People feel passionately about things.

Because if I were to say that my religion condemned heterosexuality to a person that believes what you do, they would probably get all pissy at me too.
People who don't believe that it's wrong don't wanna be told that it is by the very people that hold the political and social reigns in this country. It puts homosexuals at an unfair disadvantage because the majority of people in this country are against them. And although you may never personally hurt them, many people would and have, and that's an angering thought in the minds of people who are GLBT and are tired of being descriminated against.

First, I'm a straight guy, and I think it's fine that you don't think homosexuality is right, thats your opinion. You are a bigot if you continously and willingly come to places like yahoo answers, to the gay section, not even to ask valid questions and instead just want to explain how you disagree with their lifestyle and why. Who cares what you think if your just here to tell people how your against something? Thats bashing.
And people like you make it difficult for people like me to ask REAL questions in this section without gays/bi's immediately bashing me because they think I'm like you.

I would ask if your religion condemns homsesuality, then why are you trolling around here. I am atheist, and that would be like me going into the religion section and attacking you for your beliefs. Perhaps dont come into this section then you wont feel so wounded..... Poor baby....

Thats fine that you don't think it is right, you don't have to. I don't , nor does anyone else I imagine, need your aproval. Why though, do you insist on coming to this section, a section for people practicing a lifestyle that you don't agree with, to preach your opinion. I keep to myself, I think you would be well advised to do the same, maybe then you wouldn't have to worry any longer about the people on this site getting angry with you.

It's one of the many things your religion has got wrong. Times change, our knowledge changes, peoples views change. Relegion is designed to attract people to them, and give them a sence of security, and your 2000 year old beliefs arent right in a modern world.
