I Cannot stand that! When I get married he better not do that to do, Or I will divorce him on the spot lol no joking, but I did notice that, probably cause they are introducing fights in the marriage, they are introducing that it's okay to smash things, and throw tantrums, and ect, i think that it is childish, and I don't think it's funny, it's a bit rather embarrassing

Personally I think it is disrespectful to the person. Even if both of them do it to each other. Think about it, would you smash cake in your own face? I personally wont do anything to another human being that I wont do to myself.

And you are right, most of those marriages don't last.

I think it's fun. If I were the bride, I would discuss the plan first with my soon-to-be husband. To smash or not to smash, that is the question. One phrase: Watch the dress!

At first I think "Oh! I'd be pissed after spending all that time on my hair & makeup, lol." But my second thought is "Hey, they are having fun& it's THEIR wedding."

No I've never noticed that just b/c of how you do the cake, the marriage fails.

hhmmm, I was thinking it was the other way.My honey has been married twice before me and neither time did they do the whole bit with the cake and it ended in divorce within a year. He already told me I'm getting a face full (of cake). I just tell him,"Three times a charm, babe!"

My family thinks its bad luck! And so do I, It is not romantic and puts a bad taste in your mouth for the rest of the marriage, especially when one or the other has asked their new spouse not to do it.

It's their day and it should be exactly how they want it to be. If they want a picture of themselves with cake smeared all over their faces, in their wedding album, then who should complain about it?
