They had lots of good songs. Maybe 'Just Like Heaven' or 'Close To Me' or 'Lovecats' those were all from the 80's Do you recall any of the lyrics?

It's most likely "Lovesong", from their 1988 album "Disintegration". That's far and away The Cure's most famous song.
