No. When you are young you are naive and optimistic about everything. You are going to change the world, you are going to be successful, your are going to do this or that. As you get older I think you see things and have experiences and realize the way the world really is, and that naturally leaves most people skeptical, untrusting, and negative about other people and the world in general.

It makes sense that we would think more positively as we age since we have the wisdom of experience. However, sadly, it seems that many of my elderly clients can do nothing but complain.

With me as I have seen more of the world I have grown increasingly more cynical so from personal experience I would say no.

Uh, no. I'll let you talk to my granparents. They complain its too cold, its too hot, they are hungry, they are overweight, they can't drive, there's nothing on TV, my house is too messy, my yard looks like crap, why don't you drive with both hands on the wheel, you're not taking me to a home are you! my bills are too high, the planes fly too low, my generation was much smarter, your car is pretty messy, etc, etc.

It depends on when you start comparing. For me, I've always been positive and optimistic. I went thru the teen angst, but after those years, I've been pretty much the same.

It depends on the person's circumstances and experiences. I don't think it happens naturally.
